Brain Tumour Biobank

The SMH Brain Tumour Biobank was created as part of the University of Toronto Brain Tumour biobanking initiative, which was made possible by a generous donation from Dr. Michael Dan. This network of brain tumour repositories is one of the largest of its kind in North America. The SMH Biobank has ethically collected brain tumours and matched blood and clinical data from patients undergoing surgical treatment at St. Michael’s Hospital. This sample repository will allow researchers to make rapid progress towards the development of effective, rapid and precise treatments for people with brain cancer.

The mission of the Brain Tumour Biobank at St. Michael’s Hospital, is to support research regarding tumours of the central nervous system, leading to the development of new therapies and treatments.
