The Research Training Centre (RTC) is pleased to invite all trainees to the first workshop of this year's RTC Essential Series!

This workshop provides an overview of the different types of knowledge syntheses such as systematic, meta-analytic, scoping, realist, and rapid reviews. Participants will learn about the different methodologies and reporting guidelines for the various review types, key points to consider before undertaking one, and how to decide what type of review is right for their research question.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Describe the key components of different types of literature reviews and knowledge syntheses

  • Select the most appropriate review methodology for your research question

  • Understand the steps involved in conducting a knowledge synthesis project

  • Explain why it is essential to follow methodological guidelines when carrying out a comprehensive review of the literature
