Unity Health Toronto’s August Honour Roll

Every month, staff, researchers, physicians, learners and teams across Unity Health Toronto celebrate important honours, achievements and awards. Congratulations to all who’ve been recognized in August!  

2026 IDC CIO Award 

Unity Health Toronto has received an IDC CIO Award for Accelerating EHR Training and Onboarding Through Digital Transformation. The CIO Awards recognize Canadian organizations that use technology in innovative ways to streamline operations and deliver business value.  

Fellows elected to the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences 

Congratulations to Dr. Andrea Tricco, scientist and Executive Director of the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute at St. Michael’s Hospital and Professor at the University of Toronto’s Dalla Lana School of Public Health & Institute of Health Policy, Management, and Evaluation, and Dr. Vitor Mendes Pereira, neurosurgeon at St. Michael’s Hospital, who were elected as Fellows of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences. Considered one of the highest honours in Canada’s health sciences community, they were nominated by their peers because of their internationally recognized leadership, sustained contributions to advancing knowledge and distinguished achievements. As Fellows, they will inform important decision-making to improve health sciences across the country.
