My scholarly activities relate to contributions to development of an innovative clinical program and exemplary clinical practice, as well as, professional standards for identification and management of perinatal substance use disorders.  My academic activities consisted of educational innovations and research projects related to substance use.

Development of exemplary professional practice consisted of comprehensive primary-care based management of substance use disorders in pregnancy.   Contributions to the developmental of professional practices included defining standards of professional care for addictions and mental health as a member of guideline development groups for several international, national and provincial organizations related to substance use.  The dissemination of these guidelines occurred through publications, websites and presentations.
