Faiven Ghirmai is a registered Social Worker in the Family Birthing Centre at St. Michael’s Hospital, Unity Health Toronto. She is a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and the Network of Perinatal Social Workers of Ontario.
Faiven has over 14 years of clinical experience supporting diverse and vulnerable children, youth, families and communities across the GTA in the areas of Youth Justice, Mental Health and Maternal and Perinatal Health.
Faiven has conducted research for the Guelph Wellington Action Committee on Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence and co-wrote a report on community response models that have been implemented to combat human trafficking.
Faiven has served as a guest speaker and panellist at the Transformative Healing and Recovery Safety Forum through the City of Toronto and has served as the Community and Justice Service Diploma Program External Review representative at Humber College.
Faiven’s current research is focused on understanding how effective the Extended Sleep Program is at decreasing symptoms of postpartum mood disorders.
