My name is Farah Warsi, and I am a Registered Nurse with nearly 12 years of experience in Emergency Medicine and Trauma Care. I hold a Master of Nursing (Clinical Stream) with a collaborative specialization in Resuscitation Sciences from the University of Toronto (2020).
I currently serve as the Clinical Nurse Educator in the Emergency Department and Level One Trauma Centre at Unity Health Toronto, St. Michael’s Hospital. I am also a proud instructor with the Heart and Stroke Foundation for Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), as well as with the National Emergency Nurses Association (NENA) for the Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS) Provider Course.
As a practice-based researcher, I am passionate about resuscitation management, with a particular focus on implementing the CPR Coach role to minimize pauses in compressions, support real-time feedback, and foster collaborative, empowered care teams. Working in an ED that serves a high volume of underhoused patients, I also contribute to initiatives like the Hypothermic Resuscitation Pathway, developed by Dr. Dell, which provides guidance on ACLS modifications, advanced warming techniques, and application of the HOPE score. In support of this work, I developed nursing resources for internal/external warming and the use of the Zoll AutoPulse device for continuous compressions.
Additionally, I am deeply committed to pediatric care. I am currently involved in optimizing our Pediatric Resuscitation Tower and triage processes in the ED, and collaborating with Dr. Poley to update our Code Orange policy and procedures in alignment with the new electronic patient record (EPR) system.
