Jason Young Lee

Dr. Jason Young Lee received his MD from the University of Toronto in 2004, where he also completed 5 years of urology residency training. After successfully passing his Royal College certification examinations, Dr. Lee completed a two year combined clinical and research fellowship in Minimally Invasive Urologic Surgery and Surgical Education at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Lee also went on to complete a Master’s Degree in Health Professions Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2014.

In 2011, Dr. Lee returned to the University of Toronto as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery. He is currently a Staff Surgeon in the Division of Urology at both University Health Network and St. Michael’s Hospital.

Dr. Lee’s clinical practice focuses primarily on kidney transplantation, robotic and laparoscopic surgery for kidney cancer and prostate cancer as well as endourologic surgery for complex renal stone disease. His clinical research interests include evaluation of innovative surgical technologies and urologic imaging, outcomes research in robotic surgery and endourology. He also has a research program focusing on curriculum development, surgical skills assessment, and the use of simulation-based training in surgical education.
