Bio

Marta has practiced occupational therapy (OT) for 10 years with experience in systematic quality improvement (LEAN certified, Green belt), program development and providing clinical preceptorship to students of multiple fieldwork levels for both University of Toronto and McMaster University. Marta has also contributed to research in the MS field, with abstracts presented at the Consortium of MS Centre's international conference in 2025, and 2 accepted to the European Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis.

Marta has started to co-supervise University of Toronto OT Graduate Students during their research term, and continues to maintain her relationship with the University of Toronto. Marta has given a lecture to the Occupational Science / Occupational Therapy Program on the topic of Multiple Sclerosis and other Neurodegenerative disorders.

Marta continues to practice clinically full time as an OT at the BARLO MS Centre. She also continues to participate in research opportunities related to her clinical role, student education, and quality improvement initiatives at the BARLO MS Centre or other clinical areas related to OT across Unity Health Toronto.

Marta and her colleagues have received awards for their work in the MS field, including the Unity Health Disciplines Innovation Award (2025) and the Excellence in Research Supervision Award (2025).
