Bio

Dr. Vozoris is an Associate Professor and Clinician Investigator within the Division of Respirology, Department of Medicine, at the University of Toronto. He is also a Staff Respirologist at St. Michael's Hospital with expertise in sleep medicine, hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT) and tuberculosis. He completed a Masters of Health Sciences degree in the Department of Community Health at the University of Toronto. He also undertook research training at the Institute of Clinical Evaluative Sciences prior to coming on faculty at the University of Toronto. His primary research focus is understanding the use and potential pulmonary health effects of psychoactive and sedative medications (e.g., opioids, cannabis, synthetic cannabinoids, benzodiazepines, serotonergic antidepressants, etc.) within chronic respiratory disease populations. A secondary research focus has been understanding the impact of sleep breathing disorder on medical comorbidity, especially chronic pulmonary diseases. His research work involves using observational study designs, analyzing different types of pre-existing, population-based databases, such as Ontario provincial health administrative databases that are housed at ICES, and Canadian and United States national health survey data.
