Peter Ebeling

Professor Peter R Ebeling AO FAHMS is an endocrinologist and Dr Robert Josse Clinical Scholar, Li KA Shing Knowledge Institute, St. Michael’s Hospital and Department of Medicine, University of Toronto. Professor Ebeling has held numerous international leadership roles, including serving as the first non-North American President of American Society of Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR) (2021-2022), and as a current International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) Board member. He is Editor-in-Chief of Bone and was inaugural Editor-in-Chief of Bone Reports and JBMR Plus, and Editor of Clinical Endocrinology (Oxf.).

 In 2015 he was awarded Officer of the General Division of the Order of Australia and in 2024, he was awarded the IOF President’s Award and the ASBMR Frederic C. Bartter Award for outstanding contributions to clinical investigation. He is also Chair, Board of Healthy Bones Australia; Past-President, Endocrine Society of Australia; and Past-President, Australian and New Zealand Bone and Mineral Society. Research interests include vitamin D; atypical femur fractures; rare bone diseases; post-transplantation osteoporosis; and hypophosphatasia. He has over 615 peer-reviewed publications with over 46,000 citations and an h-index of 104.
