Cecilia Santiago is the Nursing Practice Manager, Professional Practice Department. She is an Adjunct Lecturer at the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing, University of Toronto. Prior to her current role, she was the Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit where she started to be involved in interprofessional practice based research.
Her main research interests are evidence-based practice and person centred care. She is the co-lead of one of the studies that received the inaugural Interprofessional Practice Based Research grant. She is co-leading the evaluation of the impact of managing responsive behaviours education workshop on staff knowledge, confidence and the use of patient care plans. She is also the primary investigator of an ongoing study to evaluate staff perceptions of intra-hospital patient transitions and the perceived impact of an electronic communication tool and a patient transfer guideline.
