Cheryl Pritlove is a Research Scientist with the Applied Health Research Centre (AHRC) at the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute of St. Michael’s Hospital, and Adjunct Faculty in the School of Kinesiology and Health Science at York University.
She is a qualitative methodologist, feminist political economist, and health services researcher. She has over 10 years of experience conducting patient-oriented research, wherein she has partnered with a range of patient and other stakeholder groups on topics of health, health services, and health policy. Her scholarship highlights gender and health as well as promotes promising practices and policies to improve access to care and health equity. She has specific interests in gender disparities and much of her work involves the application of gender theory to explore how social and health policies affect the health and health care of women and men at times of illness. Her work has been published in major academic journals, including The Lancet, and she has contributed to various media discussions, including an episode of the RoS Podcast at Harvard Medical School. She also serves on numerous academic and advisory committees, including the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Task Force at St. Michael’s Hospital and the Program and Research Evaluation Committee at Wellspring.
