Dr. Earl Bogoch is an orthopaedic surgeon and the inaugural holder of the Brookfield Chair in Fracture Prevention.  He is a Professor in the Department of Surgery and Chair of the Departmental Promotions Committee at the University of Toronto.  He consults with Osteoporosis Canada and the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-term Care on the province-wide Fracture Screening and Prevention Program.

His research interests are in health services issues in the delivery of preventive care to fragility fracture patients, who are at high risk of future hip fracture.  His research group studies methods to overcome the challenges of identifying, educating, investigating and treating those who require an intervention. He has also published on the surgical management of arthritic conditions.

He has published 160 peer-reviewed articles and received awards from the International Osteoporosis Federation, Osteoporosis Canada and The Canadian Orthopaedic Association.
