Practice-based Researcher

Biography

Dr. Teresa Valenzano is a speech language pathologist and the research manager of the Interprofessional Practice Based Research program.

Dr. Valenzano’s main research interests focus on swallowing function in various neurological disorders, such as spinal cord injury and multiple sclerosis, and the impact on respiratory-swallow coordination. She strives to bridge the gap between clinical practice and research by using clinical experiences to drive research, in an effort to develop guidelines for evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making.

Please note: Dr. Valenzano is not taking any summer students.
