Preparing for a Poster Presentation

If you have a poster presentation coming up, or want to learn more about creating and successfully executing poster presentations, then this workshop is for you! Intended to be practical and applicable to a wide variety of research areas, this workshop will cover design dos and don’ts, introduce participants to templates and software that can be used to create posters, and discuss strategies for preparing for the presentation itself.

Course Objectives:

By the end of this session, participants should be able to:

  • Describe elements which make an effective poster
  • Articulate best practices in design and layout
  • Understand the elements that should be included in a research poster
  • Identify tools and software available to create posters
  • Prepare for presenting research and interacting with attendees

  • All staff and students
  • This workshop is aimed at those who are new to participating in poster presentations, however experienced presenters may also find the content valuable
