Biography

Dr. Eliane Shore is a member of the division of Gynaecologic Surgery and Pelvic Medicine at St. Michael’s Hospital. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University followed by a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at St Michael’s Hospital in Toronto. During her fellowship, she completed a Master’s of Science at the University of Toronto with a focus on surgical education and simulation.

Dr. Shore has a diverse practice including low risk obstetrics, advanced gynecological surgery, colposcopy and management of vulvar disorders. Dr. Shore’s research interests include surgical simulation, surgical education, patient education, quality improvement, and clinical gynecology. She is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto and actively involved in the Residency Program. She currently runs a proficiency-based laparoscopy curriculum for the PGY1 residents at UofT. Additionally she runs the skills component of the CaRMS selection process and is involved in the simulation curriculum for residents at all levels. She is an OBGYN chapter editor for the Toronto Video Atlas of Surgery (www.TVASurg.com) and is the PI on research related to use of surgical videos. Her quality improvement studies involve the use of a Trial of Labour After Caesarean Section bundle to decrease Caesarean Deliveries and the implementation of an operating room black box in gynecology to improve surgical efficiency and patient safety. She is a co-founder of the Pandemic Pregnancy Guide on Instagram (www.instagram.com/PandemicPregnancyGuide). Dr Shore is actively involved in the St Michael’s Hospital Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery fellowship program
