A nominee must (1) Have demonstrated career commitment to new knowledge or discovery in diabetes research and; (2) Have contributed significantly to the Canadian diabetes community through the commitment of time, skill and/or new knowledge or implementation in diabetes research.June 28, 2024.
Other CanadianDiabetes Canada - Early Career Researcher AwardA personalized plaque, a cash award and travel and accommodation to attend the Diabetes Canada/CSEM Professional Conference.This is to encourage, by appropriate recognition, outstanding research conducted in Canada in the field of diabetes. A nominee must: (1) Be an early career researcher, i.e. within ten years from the date of their first research-related or faculty appointment, minus eligible delays in research, where: research-related appointments are defined as those where the individual has the autonomy to conduct research independently; and all eligible leaves (e.g., maternity, parental, medical, bereavement) are credited as twice the amount of time taken, and professional leaves (e.g., training, sabbatical, administrative) are not credited; (2) Be either a Canadian citizen or resident of Canada, conducting research in the field of diabetes at an institution located in Canada, and (3) Have contributed to the Canadian diabetes community through the commitment of time, skill and/or new knowledge or discovery in diabetes research.June 28, 2024.
InternationalAmerican Association for Cancer Research (AACR): Outstanding Investigator Award for Breast Cancer Research--This Award is to recognize an investigator whose novel and significant work has had or may have a far-reaching impact on the etiology, detection, diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of breast cancer. Such work may involve any discipline across the continuum of biomedical research, including basic, translational, clinical, and epidemiological studies. Candidates must have not yet reached 50 years of age at the time of the award presentation. May 31, 2024.
