Dr. Domenico Luca Grieco was born and raised in Rome, Italy where he completed his Medicine and Surgery Degree in 2012 at the Catholic University of The Sacred Heart, ‘A. Gemelli’ University Hospital. His residency in Anesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine is in progress. He is particularly interested in high-flow oxygen therapy, helmet non-invasive ventilation, and mechanical ventilation during abdominal surgery.
Dr. Detajin Junhasavasdikul completed his medical study from the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University (Bangkok, Thailand) in 2006. After being an intern for 1 year at Sena hospital, Ayutthaya province, he continued to study Internal Medicine with a subspecialty of Pulmonary Critical Care at the Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital. After graduation, Detajin worked as an attending and a lecturer in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Ramathibodi Hospital. At St. Michael’s Hospital, Dr. Junhasavasdikul’s main research interests are in mechanical ventilation and respiratory physiology.
Dr. Martin Dres is a French intensivist and researcher working at La Pitié Salpêtrière Hospital in Paris. He joined Dr. Brochard’s Research Lab in November 2015 as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow.
Dr. Martin Dres obtained his MD from Paris XI University and completed his medical training with a specialty in Critical Care Medicine and Pneumology. He also graduated in Medical Pedagogy and developed “Breaking Bad News” – an educational training program dedicated to teaching medical students. He is currently pursuing graduate studies in the INSERM UMR_S 1158 department at the University of Paris VI. His research program focuses broadly on the clinical impact of physiological interactions between the respiratory muscles and the mechanical ventilator. In particular, he is actively investigating the mechanisms and determinants of the liberation from mechanical ventilation process in ICU patients.
Dr. Michela Rauseo is completing her residency in Anesthesia and Intensive Care in the University Hospital of Foggia, Italy, where she comes from. She graduated in 2011 in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Foggia. She is actually a PhD student in translational medicine and food with a project on the impact of the protein intake on weaning from mechanical ventilation. She attended the Lab as Post-Doctoral Research Fellow during the year 2015. Her main field of interest is weaning from mechanical ventilation and mechanical ventilation during laparoscopic surgery.
Dr. Ibrahim Soliman finished his MD and Critical Care Residency at Alexandria University, Egypt followed by a fellowship of Royal College of Physicians of United Kingdom, he joined Dr. Brochard Lab during his Critical Care fellowship at St. Michael’s Hospital, University of Toronto (2014-2016).His research interests include Neurally Adjusted Ventilatory Assist (NAVA), Diaphragm and Lung Ultrasound.
Dr. Fabiana Madotto was born and raised in Milan, Italy, where she earned her Master’s Degree in Biostatistics and Experimental Statistics and her PhD in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. She works for the Department of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Milano-Bicocca and since 2015 she has been collaborating with Dr. Laurent Brochard’s group for the data management and statistical analysis of the LUNG SAFE (Large observational study to UNderstand the Global impact of Severe Acute respiartory FailurE) study. She is currently spending a six-month post-doctoral research fellowship at Dr. Laurent Brochard’s lab. Her main field of interest is the public health and in particular, the epidemiological aspects of cardiovascular and respiratory diseases.
