Welcome to the Genomics Health Services Research Group Home Page.
Our group specializes in evaluating the adoption of new genomic
technologies in clinical practice. We conduct mixed methods research such as
randomized controlled trials, qualitative and survey studies. We assess patient &
provider preferences, health outcomes and economic impacts of implementing
genetic tests in practice. We partner with a wide range of clinicians, laboratory
scientists, health services researchers and policy makers across Canada, the US
& Europe to develop the evidence and inform policy and practice.
Each year, I admit MSc and PhD students for interdisciplinary research investigating the impacts of adopting new genomic technologies in clinical care. This research calls on the following methods: qualitative interviewing, surveys, clinical trials, behavioural and psychological outcomes, health technology assessment, health economics, patient engagement, deliberative democracy, mixed methods analysis. Interested candidates should email a CV, unofficial transcripts, and a brief research proposal (max 1 page). Candidates are strongly encouraged to google advice for effective proposal drafting. A strong introductory email is a great first step towards graduate school admission. Due to a high volume of emails, I only respond to emails that include the requested attachments.
For 2020-2021 I am particularly recruiting candidates interested in patient engagement and health economic analysis.
