Dr. Muhammad Mamdani is the Director of the Li Ka Shing Centre for Healthcare Analytics Research and Training and the Robert and Dorothy Pitts Chair in Integrated Clinical Research at St. Michael’s Hospital. He is also Professor in the Institute for Health Policy, Management, and Evaluation and the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Toronto and a Senior Adjunct Scientist at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences. He was previously a Director of Outcomes Research at Pfizer Global Pharmaceuticals in New York. Dr. Mamdani holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), a Master of Arts degree in Economics from Wayne State University, and a Master of Public Health degree from Harvard University. In 2010 he was named among Canada’s ‘Top 40 Under 40’ and in 2013 he was named as a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS). He has published over 300 research studies in peer-reviewed medical journals.
Dr. Jeremy Petch is the Manager of the Li Ka Shing Centre for Healthcare Analytics Research and Training (LKS-CHART) of St. Michael’s Hospital, and an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto. He is the co-founder of Faces of Health Care and an editor of Healthy Debate. He is a core member of the Health Technology Expert Review Panel at the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health and he sits on the Board of Directors of the Regent Park Community Health Centre and is the Chair of its Quality Committee. Dr. Petch holds a PhD in Philosophy from York University and a graduate diploma from the Ontario Training Centre in Health Service and Policy Research. His doctoral work focused on the intersection of ethics, law and public policy in the regulation of genetic screening technologies. His academic work has appeared in Annals of Epidemiology and the American Journal of Preventative Medicine. He was previously the Manager, Special Projects at St. Michael’s Hospital and a Research Associate at the Institute for Work and Health.
