Welcome to Centre Talks! We are a group of researchers, scientists, clinicians and allied health care workers from the Centre for Urban Health Solutions (C-UHS) and different parts of St. Michael’s Hospital. Contact us at centrelist@smh.ca for more information.

Our mandate

Our mandate is to explore the context for health research, health care provision and social services.

Values statement

Centre Talks aims to create a safer and welcoming environment for conversations about health care and well being. We work towards providing a space that respects everyone. We work to be aware of how the language we use and examples we share challenge or reinforce stigma, stereotypes and power dynamics.

Our talks

All our talks are free and are generally open to the public, although some are specifically for people who work at St. Mike’s. For a list of past talks, click here. For upcoming talks, visit the events page here. To sign up for our email list or to suggest a talk, please contact: centrelist@smh.ca.

Our writing

We are currently working on a series of papers exploring and challenging the use of terms such as ‘vulnerable’ in the context of public health.
